Social Justice Studies

Join us Sunday mornings at 9am in Meeting Room 1 for discussions on social justice topics.  All are welcome. On May 5th we will have our final discussion about American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures of North America by Colin Woodward.  For the final two weeks of class (May 12 and 19), we will be viewing and discussing a documentary ”Backs Against the Wall: The Howard Thurmond Story”.  Thurmond was a prominent black preacher and theologian who taught non-violence as a tool for social change.  He inspired many of the 1960’ civil rights leaders including Martin Luther King.
