Special Discovery Hour:  Lynn Magnuson Regional Director for Church World Service

Lynn Magnuson, Regional Director for Church World Service (CWS), will be joining us Jan. 31 at 9:30 in Fenwick to share how our church is working through CWS in some of the most poverty stricken areas of our world.  CWS is 35 denominations working together in the areas of refugee work, disaster relief, and international long-term development, and is the vehicle through which much of our work is accomplished.  Last December, Lynn traveled with other staff to meet with Palestinians, Iraqi refugees in Jordan and villagers in southern Egypt.

She and her husband, Dennis (pastor at Redmond WA United Methodist Church), enjoy traveling to new places, and have visited CWS programs in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as traveling to the United Kingdom, Japan, Thailand, Israel, South Africa and Ireland.
