Travel as Transformation, Political Act, Spiritual Experience? Aug. 2010 Quarterly
Monday, August 9th, 2010
Rick Steves in Travel as a Political Act comments that a chance interaction during his travels left him, “with a renewed appreciation of the rich diversity of humanity.” He feels we can put what we’ve learned from travel to work at home, “as citizens of a great nation confronted with unprecedented challenges. When we do that, we make travel a political act.”
How has your own travel, be it far or near, changed your point of view, transformed you, made you aware of other ways of life, spiritualities, or faiths?
Share with us one such travel experience, be it to Seattle, Yakima, Iowa, Thailand, or South Africa. Send your 300-500 word narrative to quarterly@fcc.bellevue.org or leave in the church office by August 10.
