Outreach Resource Center Exploratory Committee

Our church has been approached to provide space for an Eastside Outreach Resource Center for use by the community.  This would be in a rental capacity.  The request is for a center open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The proposal states it would serve all people without restriction.  Its goals would be to provide emergency food (as we do now), bus tickets, social service resources, and hygeniene opportunities.  Should the congregation decide in favor of this proposal, it would pick up the expenses and efforts of our own Visitor’s in Need program and take what we offer to another level.

The council has asked that a committee be formed to consider the pros and cons of this project.  The Outreach and Physical Assets Commissions will be creating this committee to fulfill this exploration.
