Junior High Youth Group
The Jr. High Youth Group is a vibrant and boisterous group of youth in grades 6-8 (ages 12-14). Goals are to maintain a faithful relationship of church and youth, and to help youth mature both emotionally and intellectually. It meets Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30. They enjoy donuts and socialize for the first 10 minutes of “Meet & Greet” and then move into session time.
Activities
Social and outreach activities include lock-in social overnights, major roles on Christmas Eve and Youth Sunday and serving the homeless men that stay in our church for the month of November. The youth are encouraged to complete pledge cards, which are agreements to pledge a gift of time, talent, or money.
Staffing
One paid staff member, Rebecca Ryker, coordinates and leads the group, planning and implementing the Sunday morning lessons as well as organizing and leading social and outreach activities. There are also three adult volunteers who serve as teachers on Sunday mornings, assist in the lessons, help plan the youth group calendar, and chaperone events. Once a month a minister joins the group to lead the lesson.
