Discussion Groups

Diversity of thought energizes discussions; in the words of one discussion group member, "How do you know you're working if your buttons don't get pushed once in a while?"

 

Confirmation

Youth 13 to 17 years old. This is a great time to explore faith, develop friends and enjoy the insights of blessing of a mentor. Confirmation includes seven months of a variety of activities.

Empty Nesters

This is a group of adults whose children have now moved out on their own. They meet socially to visit and discuss topics of common interest.

Lenten Soup & Study

This four-week soup and study program is held on Wednesdays during the weeks of Lent. A light supper of soup and salad is served followed by a scripture study and discussion session.

Monday Night Book Group

This group meets monthly on the second Monday (7:00-8:30 p.m.) at Bradford Center to discuss a previously chosen book. Open to all.

Movie Group

Do you like movies and want to join others in a discussion group? Rent the monthly featured film, view it at home, and then come to share your thoughts and opinions with others.

Open & Affirming

This multifaceted ministry seeks to provide opportunities for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) members and supportive friends with social and outreach activities and to support and join with the UCC conference in a wider variety of activities. It also seeks to encourage the congregation to participate in areas of Social Justice around GLBT issues in our community.

Simplicity

Meets Monthly to reflect and better understand issues of simplicity, sustainability, creation care and environment.

Web Wizards

People who are responsible for programs, groups, or activites at the church and need to publish information about those to the church website.

Women’s Book Group

This group meets weekly on Thursday mornings (9:30-11:00 a.m.) for a lively discussion of a previously chosen book. Open to all women.

Women In Transition

This is a friendly, caring and supportive group in which to have confidential conversations about aging parents, adult children, and any other pertinent issues of midlife.

Assists communications within the parish, making known "the secret" of who we are as a church to the community. Teams with commissions and staff to get the word out about church programs, our theology and our willingness to serve the community.
