Education Commission

Faith is a journey, and a big part of that journey is the opportunity to explore faith in different contexts. The Education Commission has responsibility for all faith-based classes within the church. It consists of several initiatives, several of which have their own focused committees:

  • Nursery. Reliable care for children under two years old. We often need helpers, especially for Parents Night Out or other special events.
  • Faith formation. Children in grade school are introduced to the Bible and what it means through stories, crafts, and games. Faith Formation has its own committee to plan curriculum. We can always use more Faith Formation teachers too!
  • Youth Ministries. Junior High Youth Group and Senior High Youth Group are full of energy, and the Youth Ministries committee is always looking for energetic adults to help us stay a step ahead of this age group as they plan for social activities, fundraisers, confirmation, Habitat for Humanity projects, Youth Sunday, and more.
  • Adult Ministries. Our adults are a bit calmer than the youth, but no less inquisitive about the world around them. The Adult Ministries committee identifies opportunites to bring compelling speakers to the church, or hold our own discussions, on topics as wide-ranging as sustainability, the beginnings of Christianity, multifaith organizations, microcredit, Buddhism, Islam, and the influence of faith in politics. What intriguing topic would you like to see discussed?
