Congregations For the Homeless (CFH)
Our CFH Committee works with Congregations for the Homeless. Congregations for the Homeless in an interfaith organization under the parentage of the Eastside Interfaith Social Concerns Council. Each month the organization provides shelter for homeless single men in different church host locations. In addition they provide meals, showers, life coaching and case management. In addition, CFH connects homeless men to permanent housing and continues to provide them with case management. Our committee takes part in their efforts by opening as a shelter for the month of November. We provide breakfast and sack lunches as well as occasional dinners. Other dinner meals are provided by our November partner church Sacred Heart. The chair of this committee attends support meetings throughout the year and along with members of the committee coordinates the congregations offerings of food and help with opening and closing the shelter.
